See with the Sight of Forgiveness
We have to learn to see with the sight of forgiveness because we have been taught to view the world in an unnatural manner. We have been taught to judge just about everything. This blinds us to the world as it actually is and hides the light that our forgiveness would reveal. To begin to see in this manner entails a real change in how we view ourselves, our world and each other. We must begin to see that we are, in truth, not discrete from All that Is. This is much more than a conceptual ideology. This is a fact.
“O COMPANION OF MY THRONE! Hear no evil, and see no evil, abase not thyself, neither sigh and weep…”(Baha’u’llah, Hidden Words, p. 44)
This injunction implies that we are to exclude thoughts that condemn, blame or otherwise judge against. Nor are we to hold grievances or dwell within negative patterns of thinking. But what happens when we find those thoughts in our minds?
“…do not look at the shortcomings of anybody; see with the sight of forgiveness. The imperfect eye beholds imperfections. The eye that covers faults looks toward the Creator of souls”. (Abdu’l-Baha, Promulgation of World Peace, p. 93)
If you are to become someone who is “in the know”, you will have to start to recognize that all judgements, grievances, thoughts of war, etc. originate in your own mind.
“…those who journey in the garden land of knowledge, because they see the end in the beginning, see peace in war and friendliness in anger.” (Baha’u’llah, The Seven Valleys, p. 15)
Now we are approaching the condition of access to Knowledge. In every situation, we know the outcome to be certain. We have seen the end in the beginning. Upon encountering unkindness (war, anger, negativity) in another then, we see its beginning in our own minds. It is a judgment, a projection, a quality that we have assigned to someone else. All judgments rest on specious grounds because to err in this manner is intrinsically human. To “forgive” the “other guy” is nothing more than the recognition that we are willing to be wrong in our assessment of the situation and to allow the Truth to correct the errors in our mind. It is to allow the Knowledge of God to enter our minds. To forgive is Divine.
In allowing Divinity to prevail, we have accepted the Atonement (or At-One-Ment) for ourselves and extended the healing power of Love. There is no more powerful act of love. This is True Forgiveness. Through submission to Love itself, we can receive and give miracles that transcend the material planes of existence and bring earth nearer to Heaven.
Meditate on this: What if all that is needed to save the world, is treasured up inside of you? What if you really are the Light of the World? What if you have been entrusted with the Gifts of God? What if your World is waiting for redemption because it awaits your forgiveness, your love, your Saviorship. Not through arrogant grandiosity of purpose, but through humble acceptance of the function you must fulfill.
Only you can save the world, because, in the sense that you are creating through thought, it is you who made it.
“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (King James Bible, Matthew)
See with the sight of forgiveness and be you set free to set others free.

[...] Forgiveness is an exquisite Art. We must pay exquisite attention to our relationships because it is there that we will find the gemstones, the precious metal that are treasured in the mine of the heart…our heart, my heart, all hearts. Once you get the hang of this art form, loneliness will seem impossible, absurd even. You will learn to give love, real love. This Love emanates from the Source of all Hearts and Souls: the Source of Love itself. As you love, you will be loved. And when you change one heart through the miracle of your love, you will change all hearts. [...]
